I've recently started volunteering with Open Circle Theatre. They're in the process of turning an old theatre space that was most recently used as an ISP server room back into a theatre - hopefully before their next show opens on the 10th of October.
I spent all of Saturday afternoon/evening there and was there again for 2 hours this evening. I'll likely be back Wednesday-Friday and maybe this weekend as well. There's a lot of work to do. Sadly, most of what they need now is carpentry work and I'm just no good at that (measure 4 times and cut twice, right?).
I'm probably not going to be involved in the current production (since I'll be in San Diego for a good chunk of the run) but hopefully will get in on the one after that. It all depends on production schedule Vs conference travel schedule.
It'll be nice getting back into things. Maybe I'll even find a friend or two.
