I got a phone call from my boss this evening...

It was an emergency call.

A truffle emergency.

It seems she found a supply of truffles and wanted to get them to me (for my New Year's gift) quickly so I can use them before they go bad.

Those kinds of emergency calls are more than welcome, any time.

I'm reasonably certain that this is the first time I've ever seen, and probably the last time I will ever see, the phrase "a truffle emergency".

Unless someone names a punk band "Truffle Emergency". That would totally rock.

I don't know, with a name like that I'd expect them to be some new cooking genre of industrial. :) You are absolutely right, it would rock.
