Last night I came home to discover another mini-flood downstairs. My <9 year old hot water heater has a leak.
I hate this heater. I have since shortly after it was installed. It isn't going to be repaired, it is going to be replaced - preferably with a tankless solution. The good part is I'll save money and energy and water and maybe even get a tax credit. The bad parts are it can't be replaced until probably Tuesday and will cost me probably $7K because they have to install a tankless heater on an exterior wall and my current water heater is in the center of the house so plumbing changes will be needed.
Meanwhile, no hot water to wash dishes with so I'll be eating off paper plates or dining out for the next several days.
