Well, we've been expecting it...

At a smidge past 6pm this evening my mother called with the news that my grandmother had passed away. Her health had been failing for many years and this was by no means a surprise. It is more a relief for her not to be trapped in a body that was so badly gone. She was my last grand parent.

oh sweetie, I am sorry. Thoughts are with you & your family

Thanks. My family isn't really what you'd call close and we've been expecting this for quite some time so I'm not feeling it nearly as much as I felt the loss of my grandfather ~10 years ago.

Do you know much about her and her (and therefore your) ancestors?

Some. I wrote down what she could remember a long time ago. I even found the notes a few years back.

Even expected, it's still sad.

Not knowing what else to say, I'll offer a snoopy hug icon.

I'm sorry to hear it, Lee. Having lost all my grandparents years ago, so I envied anyone who still had any, no matter how distant.

Even a small hole in your life is still a hole. My sympathies.
