Dreaming of lime gerbils in a cheese sauce

Considering how often I add bacon (and other pork products) to apples & onions I suspect this would be a smash hit. I must try it.

It feels good to get back in the kitchen.

I was craving chocolate chip cookies so I made a batch this evening. I only have one cube of salted butter but I had an entire carton of unsalted so I used that and upped the salt called for in the recipe. It tastes like I got it right.

Now I'm down to one egg, no milk, no cream.. I really need to go shopping. If only I had an actual reason to do so. sigh.
